Christmas Hamper

This program provides the less fortunate living in our service area with a hamper containing Christmas gifts and enough food to prepare a meal during the holiday season.

Applications for hampers are received at Stettler & District Family & Community Support Services through self-referral
and cannot be referred from outside agencies due to FOIP regulations.  Suggestions for gifts may also be given, however it is not always possible to accommodate everyone.

Donations of new toys are received through churches, various community organizations, and drop boxes located in stores throughout the community. Funding comes from the community at large through individual donations and service clubs.  The society is a registered charity with Revenue Canada therefore tax receipts can be issued.

Those persons/families receiving hampers are called ahead to ensure they will be home when the volunteer makes the delivery.  This is crucial in order to ensure our volunteers don't have to make multiple return visits.
